Small Business Improvement Program
If energy savings and sustainability are important to you and your small business, you’re in luck. All of the improvement measures in Dominion Energy Virginia’s Small Business Improvement (SBI) Program deliver this and more. The key is identifying the ones that will help you the most.
Electrical and Lighting Solutions, a participating contractor in the SBI Program, will perform an on-site energy assessment of your facility. We’ll assess and identify opportunities for lighting improvements to increase energy efficiency. After the assessment you’ll have the option to implement some or all of your suggested lighting improvements. ELS will work with you after installation to submit your rebate paperwork – we may offer an instant rebate so you see savings right on the spot!
How it Works
We will conduct an on-site energy assessment. During this assessment we’ll identify specific lighting updates you can make to improve your energy efficiency. Improvements you decide to implement may be eligible for valuable rebates. We will also connect you to other participating contractors if you are interested in HVAC measures offered by the Program to unlock more savings.
Who is Eligible
Dominion Energy Virginia Non-Residential customers who:
- Are privately-owned businesses with 5 or fewer locations
- Have not exceeded a monthly demand of 100 kilowatts 3 or more times in the past 12 months
- Are responsible for the electric bill
- Are the owners of the facility or reasonably able to secure permission to complete measures
During your energy assessment, we may notice opportunities to make your lighting less costly to run. If you decide to go ahead with these improvements, they may be eligible for a rebate to help offset the installation expense. Your rebate will depend on the type and amount of lighting measures installed.
After the lighting upgrades, you may be interested in additional measures available in the SBI Program to unlock more savings. These include:
Duct Testing & Sealing and HVAC Tune-UpContractors will check your ductwork for leaks and trouble spots and they’ll assess how efficiently your HVAC system is working overall. They may recommend specific measures to improve efficiency.
HVAC UpgradeIf your equipment is older or has more significant issues, your contractor may recommend a complete upgrade of your HVAC system. The good news is that larger upgrades like these may be eligible for significant rebates. Measures may include upgrades to unitary air conditioners, heat pumps, variable frequency drives and economizers.
